And I am so grateful to be living on Kauai. I hope I never take the beauty of this island for granted: rainbows, waterfalls, and the ever-changing ocean and mountain views. If you are lucky enough to be on Kauai this Thanksgiving (and would rather be on the beach than indoors cooking), consider a luau: a traditional Hawaiian feast. Two that I recommend are Smith’s Tropical Paradise, and the oceanside buffet at the Grand Hyatt in Poipu.
Or, for a totally different Thanksgiving, consider Captain Andy’s Na Pali Sunset Dinner Sail. This four hour dinner cruise aboard a sleek 55’ catamaran passes some of the most spectacular scenery on earth. Keep your eye open for whales, turtles, dolphins… and watch out for those “Sneaky Tikis”—the Captain’s signature cocktail!
